The Bishop Scholarship Foundation

About The Bishop Scholarship Foundation

The Bishop sisters began the Bishop Scholarship Foundation in hopes of giving back to the community that we were raised in. When pondering over our lives and how far we’ve come it sparked something in us to do more than just talk about impacting change but, to create it.

We grew up in the small town of Money, MS. A time when poverty was an all-time high. We’ve seen our share of struggles. We didn’t have much, but we did. The materialistic things weren’t there but we had a close-knit family, love, and a dynamic support system, those things that mattered most. The struggles that we’ve had to endure brought about faith, appreciation, determination, drive, and self-sufficiency. There have been many people that have given us a hand along the way. Coming from humble beginnings has put us in a position today where we can impact someone else’s life in a life changing way. The Bishop Scholarship Foundation will afford a young lady that same opportunity.

Inspired by the struggles that we have overcome; this foundation was created to allow a young lady, who face financial challenges an opportunity to further her education. Typical scholarships have requirements that some may not meet. The Bishop sister’s Scholarship is attainable for all. It will assist with either tuition assistance or book stipend to ease the stress of paying for college. Eliminating a fraction of the financial burden will enable this individual to focus on the betterment of her future. If we can minimize school debt beginning with one, we can reach a multitude by paying it forward.
